Solar Observations: June 2021

Monty Leventhal OAM

Summing up for the month of June 2021; Sunspot activity at the start of Cycle 25 once again has remained very low with only 6 groups of sunspots seen, these included single spots.

Prominences were a little more active but most remained very faint. The image left shows a large hedgerow prominence which was seen on the 10th and 11th of June.

No Flares were seen during my watch during the month but some were observed by others in various parts of the world.

Total observing days = 16. R = 16. BAA Q CV= 3. CV = 11.8 (CV = Classification Value)

My forecast of activity for the month of July is promising with more groups of Sunspots and stronger magnetic fields producing I hope brighter Prominences.
